Changing the Method and Mind


    The MaRRS International Math Bee is conceived as a motivated learning program in Mathematics intended to create an interest in Maths. It has a progressive learning mechanism with new chapters in the subject added at every level. Every cycle of MIMB will drive the participant through the syllabus of the current academic year to the starter lessons of the next academic year. Thus the MIMB acts as a preparatory exercise as well.

    The competition has five levels: School, Interschool, State, National and International Championship.

    Level-1 : School Competition


    The first level of the MaRRS International Math Bee will be conducted at the school. The School Championship comprises Objective type questions.

    Level-2 : Interschool Championship


    The Interschool Championship comprises of Prelims and Finals.

    1. PRELIMS

    The MIMB prelims will have 45 objective-type questions to be answered in 45 minutes. There will be negative marks for incorrect answers

    2. FINALS

    The MIMB Interschool finals will have two segments:

    Applied math questions: - To be answered within the specified time frame

    Speed Math Round: - Trachtenberg System of Mathematics

    Level-3 : State Championship


    All those who qualify from the Interschool Championship can participate in the State Championship.

    The State Championship comprises of two sections- Prelims and Finals.

    1. PRELIMS ROUND

    The prelims will have 60 objective-type questions to be answered in 45 minutes. There will be negative marks for incorrect answers

    2. FINALS

    The MIMB State finals comprise three segments:

    Applied math questions: - To be answered within the specified time frame

    Speed Math Round: - Abacus

    Presentation of applied mathematics in a specified scope of daily life-for example –Locomotives

    Level-4 : National Championship


    The National Championship will have qualifiers from the State Championship.

    The competition will be conducted in two segments: Prelims and Finals.

    1. PRELIMS

    The prelims will have 90 MCQ questions to be answered in 45 minutes. There will be negative marks for incorrect answers

    2.FINALS

    The rounds of the MISB National Finals would be:

    Applied math questions: - To be answered within the specified time frame

    Speed Math Round: -Vedic Mathematics

    Presentation of a new puzzle based on applied mathematics.

    Level-5 : International Championship


    The qualifiers from the MIMB National Championship can participate in the International Championship.

    The competition will be conducted in two segments: Prelims and Finals.

    1. PRELIMS

    The prelims will have 120 MCQ questions to be answered in 60 minutes. There will be negative marks for incorrect answers

    2.FINALS

    The rounds of the MISB National Finals would be:

    Applied math questions: - To be answered within the specified time frame

    Speed Math Round-100 questions 5 minutes
